Secure your 6monthly CSA pork share (1/4 of a pork carcass) by placing a $50 deposit on our website.

What you will Receive

Each household will receive between 8-11 kilos of pork cuts twice a year (1/4 of a pork carcass), priced at $29.50 per kilo.

Pork cuts will include pork sausages, mince, bacon, ham and other fresh cuts. This amount of meat equals to roughly about 423g a week of pork per couple/family/housemates which is perfect for we love the Eat Better Meat Less ethic.

Join us! We are really excited to support you to eat better meat less and would love for you to visit our farm once a year at our CSA Open Day.

The $50 Deposit

This deposit will be subtracted from the final payment once the pork share is received by you. The final weight of the pork share will not be known until the pigs have fully grown. If the final weight is 11kg then your overall cost every 6 months will be up to $324.50. Please note the $50 deposit is also a commitment deposit and is non-refundable. Every 6 months we will ask you to commit to the following 6 months by making a new $50 deposit. This ensures a stress-free life for both pigs and farmer. Our first Pork Share will become available Friday October 14th 2022.

What is a CSA

A CSA is an important and amazing move away from cruelty and the organisations that condone it, Supermarkets.

CSA’s were developed to build a strong relationship between those that care, grow and produce food and those that care, purchase and eat it. CSA’s ensure a stress-free experience for animals and farmers by directly supporting farmers to create ethical living conditions for animals and humans, something that Supermarkets refuse to do.

Behind the Scenes Information

We are caring for pigs…8 of them, raised outdoors on grass, soil, sun and rain on Dja Dja Wurrung Country.

Only pigs raised on pasture have a great life and only a tiny % of farmers in Australia raise pigs on pasture. We are so excited to join them!

Food is an incredible resource and one that takes an enormous amount of work to produce.

The gestation period for a pregnant sow is about 115 days. That is 115 days that the sow is fed, provided with fresh water and fresh pasture.

Then the piglets are born and raised (fed, watered and moved every week to fresh pasture) for about 180 days. Once they have reached 6 months, I book the abattoir to ensure my pigs can be received. I then book the refrigerated transport contact to ensure the carcasses are collected on time. The delivery is made and then I will spend two to three days breaking down the carcass into mince, pork belly, hock, sausages, ham, bacon. Excess fat will be collected and used to make soap. Inedible fat will be collected and composted. The head will be boiled down for hours to make a creamy luxurious pate`. And other parts will be made into dog treats.

Everything is weighed, placed in a cryovac bag and labelled. The artisanal skills required to produce meat cannot be underestimated and I am so proud to be taking this leap.

I am soo excited to step into this amazing journey. Join us because we can’t wait to build a relationship with you!

Refund Policy:

We are extremely sorry to say that it is not possible to give refunds once payment is made, regardless of lead up-time and regardless of reason. We are truly sorry… we realised long ago that refunds make it impossible to deliver our artisanal model. But you can transfer or sell your enrolment to a friend or acquaintance.

Thank you a million trillion for supporting niche businesses like ours. Thank youuuuuuu.
