Garlic! We love you! Harvest & Braid & Lunch
What you will learn
Garlic you make everything taste good. You are used to flavour krauts, stir fries, sauces, stews. You are rubbed on toast to create bruschetta, crushed into oil to make mayonnaise, stuffed into poultry to flavour chicken, or slow fermented to make black garlic. We love you!
Let’s harvest garlic together and I will teach you how to clean it by removing old leaves and shortening roots.
Once cleaned we will braid together and incorporate rosemary in the weaving.
I will show you how to make slow fermented whole black garlic, how to do a quick garlic ferment and how to use garlic scapes in cooking.
Then let’s cook together! Spaghetti Aglio e Olio served with salad and a glass of wine.
Each of you will take home 9 garlic heads which will form one braid. Garlic keeps extremely well and will last you the better part of the year.
