Urban Greening

The backyard was pretty bare when we came to inspect the house. Grass and a few Camellias…..we planted Acacia mearnsii (Black Wattle) and other species which I need to go back and identify….thanks to this fast growing tree, which is now 11 years old, we have had a shower of shade for many years. The back garden has been a summer haven. Our little piece of nature. From our seat we rest and observe the chickens or our girls play…Ralf built a cubby on top of the 9000L water tank and monkey bars which Ahlia loves. Our bee boxes are tucked behind the tank.
