Come and stay with us, our cottage is gorgeous and I thrive on your visits and our property is trees, and birds and berries and wonder.

My love (Ralf) built the ORTO cottage with straw and wood, lime and rich chocolate soil.

We were so so so excited when we started building because we had always wanted to build with straw. Its organic thermal properties delicious to work with.

And Ralf had always wanted to take on a project like this, to feel the earth beneath him, and in his hands, to have land to nurture, space to breath, a sense of wonder engulfed us both.

How incredible to have this place, to plant trees, to build a wetland, to nurture biodiversity and wildlife.

And we love sharing it, our experiences, our stories, so much knowledge has been gained on so many topics.

From building, to fermenting, to pasta making, salami curing, and essential oil distillation, to setting up and maintaining an organic garden, foraging for wild edible fungi, to preserving skills, to making wild yeasted bread.
