The Best Gift – Part Three

The best gift is your listening, your attentive active listening. Your inquisitive questions, not rushing to interrupt. Your present presence, your engagement and your thoughtful gentle affirmations of what is being shared.

The Best Gift – Holly, effervescent and inspirational who lived with us for three months, helping us on projects in exchange for shared meals, all bills and accomodation.

The way you treat everyone as an equal and as a person full of potential and beauty.

The Best Gift – Beth from the UK who made us laugh lots

No matter what age, or cultural background, no matter their interest, you listen with deep awe.

The Best Gift – Nataniel from Singapore (holding home made soap), who helped me, full of enthusiasm, to collect cow manure from neighbouring paddocks. We started the first ORTO Cow Manure Appreciation Society

You recognise the moment for what it is, a moment of vulnerability, that person is sharing their dream with you.

The Rachels and Don – Lovers of food and hands on activities.

As you stand there listening, you jump up high to catch the wind and direct it under their wings.

So many Black Friday sales, so many things to buy, so many landfills filled with unwanted gifts.

The best gift … the gift of deep listening, eyes twinkling and meeting theirs, as you say to others, your dreams are beautiful.

So many human gifts in the world whose photo I have not captured… you are in my heart.
